The Automation Rules and SOP Studio within the Quantela Platform enables users to efficiently design, configure, and manage automated workflows. Through an intuitive, low-code/no-code interface, administrators and system integrators can quickly define automation rules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to operational requirements.

Workflows dynamically respond to platform-generated alerts and events, ensuring timely and consistent actions aligned with business processes. Studio provides visual tools to create event-driven workflows, linking business logic and external system integrations seamlessly. With robust capabilities for defining tasks, triggers, and escalation rules, the module simplifies complex operations, enhances responsiveness, and reduces manual intervention across organizational processes.

1. Event Generation & Processing Engine

The platform enables event generation based on configurable business rules with an intuitive rule configuration UI. The architecture supports multi-layered event processing, including:
  • Geospatial Event Triggering: Events can be triggered based on real-time location intelligence, allowing dynamic rule application for specific entities, zones, or geofenced areas.
  • Scheduled Event Streams: Supports scheduling for event initiation at predefined intervals.
  • Entity Streams: Monitors entity-specific states (e.g., sensor data, operational logs, system health) to trigger predefined workflows.
  • Complex Event Processing (CEP): Aggregates multiple event types using stateful stream processing, correlating diverse data sources to detect patterns, anomalies, or predefined thresholds.

Upon event triggering, notifications are delivered to users through WebSockets, ensuring real-time updates within the user interface. Operators are promptly alerted to critical incidents via a bell icon accompanied by an audible notification, enabling swift response to urgent events.

Historical event data is efficiently indexed to support fast, detailed searches. Users can easily filter events based on criteria such as time, entity, severity, location, or status, streamlining incident analysis and resolution. The platform utilizes distributed storage combined with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch indexing to ensure quick retrieval of event data, facilitating efficient review and informed decision-making.
